Chinese Figure Skaters Face Probe After Holding Toy Missile during Event
ISU officials are conducting an investigation after a pair of Chinese figure skaters were seen with what looked like a toy ballistic missile during a grand prix figure skating event.
Broadcast video showed the skaters sitting alongside a large toy in the form of a rocket labeled “DF-61” as they awaited their scores in the “kiss and cry” zone on Saturday.
This model is a new Chinese-made ground-launched long-range weapon designed for transporting atomic warheads, that had been unveiled at a military parade recently.
